A garden that is safe with children and a dog

Which plants drop out of a plan when a child or a dog uses the garden, and why.

In Verdlo, safety is not a footnote under the plan. Tell it that children or animals use the garden and severely toxic plants never enter the plan at all, while the ones that can upset a stomach carry a warning that names the plant.

Left out when children use the garden

The rest the plan keeps in mind

• Thorns: roses and barberries are not planted under a window or along a path people run down.
• Allergens: birch and ornamental grasses carry a note, because anybody living with hay fever knows why.
• Running roots: not a danger to health, only to a lawn, but it is flagged too.
• Water: a pond in a garden with a toddler is a decision no software should make for you.

The list of toxic plants is long and does not end with the Verdlo catalogue. If somebody has eaten part of a plant and feels ill, call your emergency number; take a dog to the vet with a piece of the plant.
